Terms of use

Polychrome Computer

2026-09-27

These terms are an agreement between you and Audible Goods about your use of Polychrome Computer (“Polychrome”). By using Polychrome you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Polychrome.

1. Using Polychrome

You may use Polychrome to find keys and chords for your own music, including commercial music. You may not resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute Polychrome, or copy, modify or reverse‑engineer it except where the law allows it regardless of these terms.

2. Who can use Polychrome

You must be at least 13 years old to use Polychrome. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must read and agree to these terms on your behalf, and is responsible for your use of Polychrome.

3. What you make is yours

You own the songs, melodies and progressions you write with the help of Polychrome. We claim no rights in them. You are responsible for having the rights to anything you sing into it or make with it.

4. Nothing is kept

Polychrome runs in your browser. It listens to your microphone only while it is listening for a key, analyses the sound there and then, and keeps no recording of it. It stores nothing about you: the key it finds and the voicings you choose are gone when you close or reload the page. Nothing is uploaded to us.

5. Suggestions, not answers

Polychrome names a key from the notes it hears and shows the chords that belong to that key. The key it names depends on what you sang, how in tune you sang it, your microphone and your room, and conditions Polychrome cannot see; a short melody often fits more than one key, which is why Polychrome sometimes offers a second one. The chords it shows are the standard chords of that key, not chords chosen for your song, and many songs use chords from outside their key. We do not guarantee that the key Polychrome names is right, or that the chords it shows are the best, or even suitable, chords for any song or performance. To the extent the law allows, you have no claim against Audible Goods because a key or chord Polychrome suggested did not suit your song, or because another one would have suited it better.

6. Your voice and hearing

Polychrome is a music tool. It is not medical, therapeutic or professional vocal advice, and it does not replace a singing teacher, voice therapist or doctor. Sing only within a range that is comfortable for you, rest when you need to, and stop straight away if singing causes pain, hoarseness, strain or loss of voice. Do not use Polychrome while your voice is strained, sore or recovering. If you have, or think you may have, a problem with your voice, get advice from a qualified professional before using Polychrome. Keep playback at a comfortable volume, especially on headphones. You use Polychrome at your own risk, and to the extent the law allows, Audible Goods is not responsible for any strain or injury to your voice or hearing.

7. Updates and changes

We may update Polychrome, change its features, or change these terms. The version of the terms is shown at the top. If you keep using Polychrome after the terms change, the new version applies.

8. No warranty

Polychrome is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be free of errors, work with every browser, device or microphone, or hear every voice accurately.

9. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, Audible Goods is not liable for lost work, lost profits or any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Polychrome, if anything. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

10. Ending this agreement

You may stop using Polychrome at any time. If you break these terms, you must stop using it. Sections 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9 continue after that.
